Cartoon Network Gave Upwards the Dissemination Rights to Megas XLR

Uh......I'm skeptical about that, I'k sorry. Companies rarely "give up" the rights to a evidence they paid for and produced. When it happens information technology is normally the outcome of a large commutation of coin between them and some other company. CN would not just say "oh well, no ane'll desire THIS" and throw Megas into public domain.

That's where it would be if nobody else bought information technology, and I haven't seen $1 Megas DVDs at Wal-Mart still.

Exactly when did CN give upwards the rights to Megas?

Dissemination rights is not the aforementioned as giving up the rights to the show itself, or the Megas XLR property, as odd every bit that sounds.
It does mean some other network could pick it up and air the episodes though, and if they desire, they could lodge more episodes. If that happens, Cartoon Network will still get money from that, likely through royalties.

Makes me wonder if the aforementioned fate happened to Robotomy. It also makes me wonder if it was Snyder's doing? Selling the circulate rights doesn't sound similar something that Samples would do.

I'm also pondering if the broadcasting rights, to unkown type shows like Robot Jones, Mike Lu and Og and Sheep in The Large Metropolis were sold.
But I would doubtfulness it, since they were in the 20th special bumpers, and Robot Jones was shown again one-time in 2010 right?

Then many question in my head, why Megas? S:l

Oh and what is the departure mentioned, betwixt sold and "gave up"?

Robotomy was produced by a company that no longer exists and so CN probably withal has that. Mike, Lu & Og airs on Boomerang from time to time. Robot Jones and Sheep in the Big City were referenced in the 20th Anniversary videos simply I seem to call back something about CN no longer owning Sheep in the Big City. Megas was just referenced in that mural someone did for the 20th Anniversary forth with some other shows CN mayhap no longer has the rights to.

Does this mean Titmouse has Megas XLR and can shop it around? Perchance Jody or George could answer that because other than Turner or mayhap Warner, Titmouse is the merely company I could think of which would go those rights past default.

This would explain why Boomerang has never aired it but I always assumed that was considering CN had no interest in running it on Boomerang and that's probably yet true but taken to a whole different level.

Megas is actually pretty ideal to find life on another network considering there'south nothing linking information technology to Cartoon Network other than product credits. They could throw information technology on Nicktoons or Disney XD for instance. Maybe Saban could get information technology for Vortexx. I'd say Turner could get it dorsum but it's all but assured they wont specially for Adult Swim.

I never got the impression Megas did poorly though so that sounds suspect to me. The show did well on Toonami with the target demographics at least initially and supposedly was doing alright on Miguzi as well. Information technology didn't get a 3rd season considering the staff inverse at CN and a lot of well received shows were not getting renewed because of that. Maybe it just didn't hold up?

Well I have it on iTunes just this news is still a downer. The silver lining is nosotros don't have to rely on Turner or Warner to put Megas on TV or DVD.

Co-ordinate to the TV schedule, Drawing Network still airs Megas XLR in Netherlands and Flanders. (Every dark at 01:10PM) I'm going to record it to see if it's truthful.Oh, and this is my first mail service :) (Yous will see that my English isn't proficient at all... I'grand only xv years old.)

Start of all, your English is smashing at all! I assume that the same rights doesn't apply for other contries. Yous can observe other channels in other countries that air CN shows fifty-fifty. CN basically, even though CN America no longer has the broadcasting rights for Megas XLR CN Netherlands and Flanders might yet accept them. I recall that's how it works, and I'chiliad pretty sure CN in other countries still have them too, simply just doesn't air it atm.

According to the Television receiver schedule, Cartoon Network notwithstanding airs Megas XLR in Netherlands and Flanders.
Might be a lot of people here that are thinking about moving there simply to meet Megas :p

Fifty-fifty if CN dropped Megas XLR, among other shows too, I wonder why they'd accept the company add together them in the 20-year memories. The new generation of kids who have never seen these shows probably only had something to cheer for if they saw bits and pieces of today's current shows, Perchance the Eds too. Many of them may not fifty-fifty know what Megas or Sheep are, and unless they're talented in online searches or have friends/family that know the CN of the 90s and early 00s, they may never understand what shows they are.

Basically, I'm but saying if you lot don't have the show menstruum, why was information technology involved?

Both both George and Jody were taken by surprise at this. It seems weird, since the show didn't practice that poorly.

So CN has the iTunes rights, merely not the broadcast rights. So who has the DVD rights? Might exist a expert idea to commencement questioning Shout Mill almost possibly picking this up...

Really, they rerun Sheep in the Big City and Mike Lu & Og here since September to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Sheep in the Big Metropolis arrogance every Monday and Friday at 01:15PM and 08:50PM and every Midweek and Sunday at 08:50PM too. But every episode is cut into 3 shorts :( Mike Lu & Og airs every Tuesday and Thurday at 01:15PM.

Oh, and in July and early August 2012, they had a Comedy Summerfestival on 3 CN feeds: Netherlands/Flanders, Poland and Republic of hungary/Romania. (And on this 'Summerfestival', they aired full episodes of Sheep :) )

Here's the Dutch commercial:

The Smooth version: http://world wide web.youtube.com/watch?5=PYzyQVn4VS4
The Hungarian version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1PgrxyNvkc / The Romanian version: http://www.youtube.com/sentry?five=X4ANmOlUCNo
(They didn't air the same cartoons on the aforementioned feeds in this 'Summerfestival', so you tin can't see all the cartoons in the commercial)

However, I'm really certain Cartoon Network still have the rights of Sheep in the Large City and Mike Lu & Og :)

EDIT: I just checked it and they still rerun Megas XLR hither.
